We are currently recruiting a Tutor to join our team at Regent College.  

Regent College provides specialist education for young people from 16 – 25 years old. As a small, non-residential, independent specialist college based in Stoke on Trent, we provide a safe and supportive environment for young people who have complex learning difficulties with associated challenging behaviours, to acquire the life skills and levels of independence they will need when they leave college.

We have a Full Time position available during Term Time.

Role of the Tutor

To design and deliver individual learner programmes which maximise learning and develop independence though communication, vocational, social and life skills. 

  • To be accountable for the development, delivery and assessment of individual study programmes
  • As Personal Tutor you will implement, monitor and review Educational Health and Care Plans. 
  • Fully embed the RARPA process, functional skills and British values
  • Prepare and chair internal and external reviews. 
  • Assist in the development of the curriculum taking the responsibility
  • Maintain external links to enhance learning opportunities
  • Plan and prepare college events within timetabled sessions
  • To support effective transition, into and out of college
  • To carry out the necessary procedures relating to external accreditation processes ensuring all standards are met
  • To provide pastoral support liaising with keyworkers to ensure that the individual programmes meets the needs of the learner. 
  • Provide evidence to inform the Quality Improvement Plan, assisting in the development of the Self-Assessment Report
  • To be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of learners

To Apply for the role you must:

  • Have at least 5 years experience working with people with disabilities and challenging behaviour.
  • A recognised teaching qualification 
  • Willing to obtain further training if required. 
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills
  • Assess, monitor and record learning development.
  • To be able to work flexibly and unsociable hours, for example, Presentation Evening, funding raising events.
