Salary: Pay rate £13.01 per hour

£27,060.80 based on 40 hours per week

Working Hours: Full time - Up to 40 hours per week

Nexus Support Limited is a specialist provider working alongside people with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Complex Needs aged between 16 and 45 and their families in the South Essex area. 

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Support Worker to provide high-quality, person-centred care for an individual with autism. This role requires someone who understands the importance of structure, consistency and routine. Who can confidently support an individual with a well-established daily schedule.

Days will be spent supporting the person to live a life meaningful life.

We will provide opportunities to grow, develop new skills and to explore and enjoy new and established interests and experiences. This may include activities such as swimming, exercising and any preferred activities that individuals may wish to participate in within community settings and within their own home.

You will need to be available to work full-time hours supporting the person at home and within the community. Shifts patterns include earlies, lates, sleep in and alternate weekends.

Essential Requirements for the role

  • A full UK manual driver’s license.
  • Extensive experience supporting individuals with autism.
  • Strong understanding of routines, sensory needs and behavioural support strategies.
  • Ability to remain calm, patient and consistent in approach.
  • Excellent communication, listening and observational skills.
  • A compassionate, respectful and person-centred mindset with a caring attitude and a passion for supporting others. A motivation to see them achieve goals.
  • A team player, able to work effectively with other colleagues. 
  • Resilience to keep going at difficult times and the confidence to ask for support if needed.
